Our Biancosassu is a “Vermentino di Gallura Superiore docg” – the only Controlled and Guaranteed Designation of Origin in Sardinia, which is now widely planted throughout the entire territory of Gallura but which has taken its first steps right in the lands of Luras, where it still finds the soils that best exalt its peculiar aromas and tastes.
We grow Vermentino grapes on both clay and granitic plots that reflect on the waters of the L’Iscia Lake, at 300 meters above sea level; we handpick our grapes in mid-september and softly press them. Once the skins are removed from the musk, we leave it to ferment in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of only 16-17°C, so as to best preserve the most volatile aromas.
The 4,000 bottles of Biancosassu age for at least two months, before a straw-yellow nectar with golden hues is poured in your glasses, which is very structured and alcoholic (14% vol.), with aromas of helichrysum flowers, broom and violet, with a fresh and mineral taste and the typical almond aftertaste of the pure Vermentino di Gallura.
